Edition

Edition 1 (Carbon)

Edition No. 1 (Carbon) introduces handles made from light-reflecting carbon fiber. Hidden in diamonds or used to build performance racing cars, this material is as versatile as it gets. It is impressive how much effort it takes to craft Muhle's Edition No. 1 products as single forged blanks are covered with tissue like fibers and placed in a mould, soaked in high-grade resin and finally cured. The product has a modern and terrific feel with a shiny handle for everyday use.

Edition 2 (Urushi)

Edition No. 2 (Urushi) is made from red varnish, also known as Chinese lacquer and is a tiny miracle of shaving culture. The lacquer is made by applying an ancient technique which can be traced back to 300 B.C. and is only mastered by a few. Skilled experts apply thin layers of lacquer to the products and turn them into delicate, unique single products. FUN FACT: The renowned Japanese company, Yamada Heiando, which makes the handles of the Edition No. 2 for Muhle also serves the Japanese emperor, making the Muhle Edition No. 2 truly royal quality.

Edition 3 (Bog Oak)

Edition No. 3. (Bog Oak) is a newer arrival to the Muhle editions but are literally timeless in their construction. Bog Oak is a wood that lays for thousands of years in an airtight swamp or bog just waiting to be turned into a member of your grooming regime. It gets its magnificent dark coloring from the long soaking process absent any of the normal forces of decomposition. The wood is refined with sterling silver so that the fin indentations on its surface emanate a silvery glean. Finally, the surface is sealed in a high gloss finish and the wood remains waterproof and timeless.
